Have you ever witnessed a miracle unfold before you? Were you ever astounded at the way God worked or healed in a situation?
Let’s look at the definition.
miracle:” an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs (b)an unusual or wonderful event that is believed to be caused by the power of God.
When we think of miracles we may think of a miraculous healing or protection given outside of human reach. Or maybe you think of the many miracles that happened long ago in Jesus’ time that were performed by Jesus himself or his disciples and are somewhat skeptical that they are still happening today, especially in America.
I think sometimes we are so busy with our lives that only the big miracles arrest our attention and the little miracles of every day get overlooked and totally ignored.
Have you ever stopped and thought about the miracle of life? Seriously, it’s totally amazing how life begins at conception. It’s nothing less than a miracle and something only God can do. The way God designed our bodies is truly amazing. I don’t know enough to go into detail and explain all the amazing functions of the body and all the cells but I DO know enough to know that the body and life is definitely a beautiful masterpiece of our loving Father. It grieves me at how the lives of innocent, little babies are viewed as disposable and are treated as so. Why? How can people be so selfish and wicked as to kill and throw away a living miracle?
Another miracle we witness every Spring in particular is that of new life. The world wakes from it’s cold, winter slumber and comes alive with fresh, green buds on the trees, bright ,cheery flowers in the flowerbeds, flowering trees, and of course weeds . It’s a miracle how tiny seeds ,once planted ,sprout and push through the warm soil to the sunlight above.
A miracle that is not limited to a season is the sunrise and sunset of each day. Beautiful , breath-taking sunrises and sunsets speak volumes of God’s love and care for us.
It’s a miracle how God can come into our lives and completely change the way we live. HE takes the burden of sin and guilt off our shoulders and washes us clean with His blood. Each day of life is a miracle and it amazes me to me a part of that !! God truly is indescribable!
Miracles are happening all around us. We just need to open our eyes and purposely look for them.
What are some miracles that you have experienced this week ?
As my students would say, we witnessed a “miracle” on the outfield this week. We were playing kickball at lunch break and an eighth grader was up to kick. He kicked it high and ran to first base assuming the third grader ( a girl) in that part of the field would completely miss it and he would be safe. However, that was not to be and the ball was caught much to Lindsay’s ( the 3rd grader) and her teams delight and to the surprise of the opposing team. Everyone was happy about the catch and it was dubbed a miracle by my second grader 🙂
